Dan Mercer

Dan has covered the third tier for the best part of two decades, back when it was Division Two and the away end at Gay Meadow still had a roof you could hear the rain on. He edits the site and writes the pieces that need a season's worth of context: the promotion race as it tightens, the play-off permutations nobody else can be bothered to work out, the slow decline that everyone spots six months too late. He is unhurried, sceptical of a good run, and genuinely delighted by a bad one ending.
